OBITUARY - Com. Narayan Mohapatra is no more
Com. Narayan Mohapatra, ex-APM, Cuttack GPO and a veteran trade union leader of undivided P & T Trade Union movement in Odisha leaving his foot prints as the Ex-Circle Secretary , AIPEU, Group-C, Odisha Circle branch expired at 11 PM on 15.03.2016 at his Cuttack residence due to brain stroke.
Late Com. Mohapatra had joined in the Department of Posts in 1961 and retired as APM, Cuttack GPO on 31st March, 1997. Immediately after his joining in the Department, he took active part in the P & T Trade Union Movement of Odisha Circle and became the Circle Secretary of All India Postal Employees Union, Group-C, Odisha Circle branch in the year 1978. Due to local disputes, he left AIPEU, Group-C and became a member of Bhartiya Postal Employees Union. He became the General Secretary of BPEU in 1993 and fortunate to hold the post of Secretary General, BPEF in 1995 till his retirement.
The All India Postal Employees Union, Group-C, Puri Divisional branch sincerely mourns the sad demise of Com. Mohapatra and prays Lord Jagannath to shower His unending blessings over the bereaved family members to bear with this irreparable loss.
