From February, the Postal Department will distribute welfare pensions to 50,000 beneficiaries in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation area.
For effective disbursement of the pensions in the city 85 postal field staff have been identified across all the post offices and trained for disbursement through Point of Transaction Devices from February 2, according to Senior Superintendent of Post Offices K.V.L.N. Murthy.
A campaign for identification of finger prints would be taken up for three days from Friday in the post offices.
The beneficiaries should produce the ration card/Aadhar card/Post Office Pass Book or EPIC card for his or her identification.
