felicitation of meritorious sports persons of puri division
A Meeting was organized by sports community in collaboration with AIPEU(NFPE) PURI in the evening of 03-feb-2014 in the mail branch of PURI HO.The purpose of the said meeting was to felicitate the sportsman of our division for their out standing performance in recent past.The meeting was presided over by SSPO PURI Sri Srikanta kar.All the sports person and another PA PURI HO were greeted with flower bouquet by SSPO,PURI.All the outstanding sports men were presented with a memento bearing the photo of Lord Jagannath.Follwing sports men were felicitated by the divisional supt.
1.SRI SHYAM SUNDAR MOHAPATRA GOLD MEDALIST WRESTLING
2.SRI NARASINGHA SEHTI GOLD MEDALIST WEIGHT LIFTING
3.SRI BISWAJEET PRATIHARI GOLD MEDALIST WEIGHT LIFTING
4.PRADIP MOHANTY BRONZE MEDALIST WRESTLING.
Among others Sri Ashis kumbhar was also greeted for his bronze medal he achieved in the All India Cultural Meet held at Jabalpur MP.
SSPO Sri Kar adviced all the sports person to maintain the momentum of the performance and keep the dignity and honour of the division as well as department.the entire gathering was delighted with a condensed speech by the ASPO OD Sri Banamali Patra.who is known to be a good orator to address a large gathering.Sri Patra made the the people aware that when some like these outstanding sportsmen bestowed upon some award/reward etc.etc the expectation from member of colleague as well as public augmented .Such expectation mountains pressure on the sports people .Quoting the example the genius Tendulkar Sri Patra advised the people not to loose patience and continue the same tempo in future.Above all ,the sports person should maintain utmost discipline in every sphere starting from play ground to office.They should not do anything that tarnish the image of department as well as their game.
Among others the OS Sri Ganesh Shoo,ASPO IC Sri Asit Nayak , IPO PG,Officiating Postmaster Smt.Mamata Panda, Veteran Sportsman Shyam Sundar Patra,R K SUAR, Narendra Biswal,Dvn Secy AIPEU Com.Rajesh Bohidar,SPMs of town SO and Staff of PURI HO &divn. office were present.
At last the vote of thanks was presented by OS IP Sri Ganesh Sahoo.A large no. of press and media person also present for coverage.
The meeting and programe was ended nicely with folk song by Com Asish.
